A Telford man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he crashed his car in Hilltown Township while under the influence and was found with a loaded handgun in his vehicle.

Vincent Domenic Congedo, 32, of the 200 block of County Line Road, is charged with felony firearms not to be carried without a license, along with misdemeanor driving under the influence and summary careless driving, according to a criminal complaint filed by police.

Police were dispatched around 11:53 p.m. Jan. 15, 2026 to the area on the 800 block of Route 113 for a report of a vehicle off the roadway and into a ditch. Officers arrived to find a white Ford Mustang that had left the northbound lanes and come to rest in a ditch, court documents said.

Congedo, identified as the driver, told police he was heading home from Souderton, got lost and swerved to avoid a deer before crashing, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, an officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Congedo, who denied drinking. Police said he agreed to perform field sobriety tests and performed poorly. Officers determined he was under the influence to a degree that made him incapable of safely driving and took him into custody, per the complaint. He later consented to a blood draw at Grand View Hospital. Results of the blood testing were not included in the complaint.

During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to it being impounded, an officer located a loaded handgun magazine in the center cupholder. When asked if there was a firearm in the vehicle, Congedo reportedly told police there was one in a bag on the front seat.

Officers recovered a fully-loaded Beretta M9 handgun with a round chambered, according to the affidavit. Police later determined Congedo did not have a valid license to carry a concealed firearm.

Congedo was processed and later released to a sober third party shortly before 1 a.m. Jan. 16. He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail ahead of a March 10 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
