It won't be long before the 2026 Phillies uniform tracker is up and running at OnPattison, keeping track of whether the Phillies wear pinstripes, grays, powder blues, creams or City Connects for each game of the season.
But in addition to their five regular uniforms, the Phillies will presumably have some sort of speciality threads for the Field of Dreams game on Aug. 13 that will be given an exemption from Nike's controversial "4+1" rule that limits teams to four base uniforms and a fifth if it's a City Connect.
For reference, both prior installments of the game featured the teams playing wearing throwback uniforms of some sort.
Both the Yankees and Chicago White Sox sported throwbacks for the original Field of Dreams game on Aug. 12, 2021, an instant-classic game that ended with Tim Anderson hitting a walk-off home run into the corn field:

A year later, the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs also wore throwbacks when they met in Dyersville, Iowa on Aug. 11, 2022:

What's interesting about this second matchup is that neither team wore gray, as opposed to the first time when the Yankees wore a vintage version of their road uniforms. With a movement away from gray road uniforms in baseball currently, perhaps the Twins and the Phillies will find a way for neither team to don gray in this one-off game.
With that said, the Phillies are going to be the road team for the Field of Dreams game, so if any team is going to wear gray, it would be the Phillies. Also, we're assuming that the Phillies aren't going to just wear powder blues for the game, which would kind of feel lame considering it's been an alternate that they regularly wear since 2018.
Obviously, for a franchise that's existed since 1883, there are plenty of different threads for the Phillies to pick from. But there's perhaps an early clue of what era's uniforms the Phillies will pick from for the game based on a promotional page on MLB's website that features this graphic:

According to SportsLogos.net, this specific red "P" was the primary logo for the Phillies from 1911-1914.
Courtesy of the Baseball Hall of Fame's "Dressed to the Nines" exhibit, here's a look at some of the uniforms that the Phillies wore during that stretch:

However, this block P was used in various different uniform combinations during the first century of play for the Phillies. It wasn't always red, such as on the 1942 road uniforms modeled here by Darren Daulton:

While this uniform would fit the Phillies being the road team in an old-school baseball game, there is a marketing angel in all of this. Whatever uniforms and hats the Phillies wear for the Field of Dreams game, they're going to want to sell. Are fans going to be flocking to the New Era Team Store to buy this hat or jersey? Probably not.
We're going to guess that the Phillies have some sort of red in their uniforms. There are plenty of other looks in early Phillies history that feature a red version of this P in some form:

It's also possible we're reading way too much into what's on MLB.com and they just picked a random throwback Phillies logo to go on the website without any knowledge of what's going to be worn for the game.
If you just want a cool novelty uniform for this one-off game, the threads that the Phillies wore from 1944-1945 — when they flirted with the nickname of the Blue Jays — are sharp:

Of course, the fact that there is another team called the Blue Jays in the sport today would complicate wearing these. But man, that Blue Jay on the sleeve is really cool.
We're not going to go through every uniform in the history of the team, because ultimately this is speculative. However, there are two final options to consider.
The first are the road jerseys that the Phillies wore from 1946-1949:

If these look familiar, it's because the home versions are what the popular cream alternates that the Phillies introduced in 2008 are a modern take on. Would it be cool to see the road version in action for a game? They are gray, but they have plenty of color.
Maybe we're reading too much into this, but the biggest drawback with these gray uniforms is they were what the Phillies wore when then-manager Ben Chapman hurled horribly racist insults at Jackie Robinson at Ebbets Field in April of 1947.
The final uniform to consider are the road uniforms that the Phillies donned from 1950-1969, as modeled by Hall of Famer Dick Allen below:

No one is going to look as cool as Allen did, but even those who don't love gray road threads have to admit that these pop. From here, this is the greatest "P" in franchise history. (It also doesn't hurt that they are the road uniforms the Phillies wore when managing partner John Middleton was a child, so he likely has a fondness for them.)
The Phillies actually wore the matching home versions from this uniform set on June 19 and 21 during the 2015 season, if that's worth anything:

Ultimately, we'll wait to see what the Phillies choose to wear for what figures to be a special event. Hopefully this article helped point out that there are a ton of interesting options to choose from, even as the road team.
