In addition to the free parking garage option, residents living near municipal parks may also park in borough-owned lots
Lansdale Borough officials announced that SEPTA will allow residents to park for free in the borough parking garage from Saturday through Tuesday, as a Snow Alert/Emergency takes effect ahead of a major winter storm.
The Snow Alert is scheduled to begin Saturday at noon, giving residents advance notice to make parking arrangements before conditions deteriorate.
Borough officials said all vehicles must be removed from designated Snow Alert and Snow Emergency routes to allow plows to safely clear streets and push snow away from the roadway.
Lansdale Police will assist with public notification and will actively enforce parking restrictions throughout the duration of the alert or emergency. Officials stressed that vehicles left on restricted routes significantly slow snow removal efforts and can prevent plows from operating safely.
In addition to the free parking garage option, residents living near municipal parks may also park in borough-owned lots at White’s Road Park, Fourth Street Park, Stony Creek Park, Memorial Park, and Schweiker Park.
Borough officials urged residents to relocate vehicles before snowfall begins to help crews keep roads passable during and after the storm.
Residents are encouraged to monitor borough communications for any updates as the storm approaches.
