A vehicle rescue is underway Thursday evening following a two-vehicle crash that left one car overturned on its side in the southbound lanes of Route 309/Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Township.
The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on the southbound lanes of Route 309, between Unionville Pike and the Manheim Philadelphia Auto Auction, according to emergency radio traffic.
One vehicle was reported overturned with confirmed entrapment. Fire crews were working to stabilize the overturned car while rescue operations continued.
Officials indicated there was one person trapped in each vehicle. The first individual was successfully extricated around 6 p.m.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Hatfield Fire Co., Hilltown Fire Co., Colmar Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co. of Souderton, and multiple ambulances from VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
Southbound lanes of Bethlehem Pike were impacted as emergency crews operated at the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
