For their next game, North Penn will travel to Central Bucks West to take on the Bucks on Tuesday at 7 p.m
North Penn invited youth basketball players from the community to the game and every player that wore a jersey got admitted free. Lot’s of young hoopers came out and watched the North Penn Knights (8-7, 3-2) handle business at home, in a non-conference game against the Abington Galloping Ghosts (7-8, 2-2); beating them 76-46. The Knights totaled 8 threes, 13 free throws made and had double digit steals defensively in their win.
“It was a good shooting day for us. But also we were taking smart shots and weren’t forcing them,” guard Mehya Godhania said.

The tipoff began and Abington wasted no time getting on the board first with a layup from Aniyah Williams [2-0]. The Knights took the lead from a Tallie Smink three and they did not look back. They closed out the first quarter on a 9-0 run. On that run, Lily Brown converted a three-point play, Paityn Debro knocked down two free throws, and Saniah Hammond had a layup and two free throws.
The Knights ball movement was the star in the second quarter; they found openings in the defense and were able to convert wide open layups. This allowed them to go on their second 9-0 run of the game. On that run, Hammond made a mid-range pull-up, Brown had two layups, and Ava Wood hit a corner three.
In the third quarter Godhania and Brown combined for 16 of the 21 points for the Knights. Godhania made 3 three pointers in the third quarter and had a floater over the defender. Brown had three steals defensively and attacked the paint converting 3 free throws and a layup.
“I just wanted to play good defensively and offensively for my team and be that person who can stop their best players,” Godhania said.
The Knights were up by 18 [60-42] heading into the fourth quarter. The defense was on display as they held the Ghosts to only 4 points in the quarter. The Knights third and last 9-0 run came midway through the fourth. On that run, Brown made a layup and a free throw, Godhania hit a corner three, and Smink had two layups to close out the one-sided affair.

“We always say defense fuels offense. You could really see that in the game. We played a good game defending and we always tried to get our hands on the ball,” Godhania said.

On the same day at the same time, Abington will be at home hosting the Hatboro-Horsham Hatters. The Galloping Ghosts were winners in their earlier season matchup with the Hatters, 43-41.
