Gardeners looking to get a head start on spring planting are invited to a Winter Sowing Workshop and Seed Swap hosted by the Lansdale Garden Club on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.
The workshop will take place during the club’s monthly meeting at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, located at 837 Sumneytown Pike in Upper Gwynedd.
The evening will feature a PowerPoint presentation, a hands-on “make-and-take” activity, and a seed swap. Participants will learn how to create simple mini greenhouses that can be left outdoors through the winter, allowing seeds to sprout naturally in the spring without the need for grow lights.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a cutting tool such as scissors, an X-Acto knife, or a box cutter, along with any seeds they would like to plant or share, though seeds will also be available. Organizers also suggest bringing a friend.
Children ages 7 and older may participate with an accompanying adult. The event is free and open to gardeners of all experience levels.
