Both fires were brought under control quickly and resulted in no reported structural damage or injuries
Firefighters in two Montgomery County municipalities responded to separate vehicle fires Wednesday night, both of which were brought under control quickly and resulted in no reported structural damage or injuries.
The first incident was reported at 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of Kriebel Road and Sumneytown Pike in Towamencin Township, between Troxel Road and Holly Drive. According to fire officials, a vehicle fire was reported in the roadway, prompting a response from the Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company. Crews brought the fire under control and cleared the scene by 8:43 p.m., minimizing traffic disruption in the area.
Less than 10 minutes later, at 8:34 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the 3100 block of Trewigtown Road in Hatfield Township, between Bethlehem Pike and County Line Road, for a second vehicle fire. Responding units found a dump truck-style vehicle with fire in the engine bay and cab, according to emergency radio traffic.
Fire companies from Colmar Fire Company and Fire Department of Montgomery Township, and Hilltown Township Fire Company responded to the Hatfield incident. The fire was brought under control by 8:45 p.m. Officials confirmed the fire did not spread to any nearby structures, and the incident was limited to the vehicle itself.
Authorities said both fires were extinguished quickly, and no structural fires or secondary hazards were reported at either scene. The causes of the fires were not immediately available.
