A Souderton man remains free on bail and awaits a sentencing date after pleading guilty to felony sexual abuse of children in connection with incidents in Souderton Borough in June 2024.

According to The Mercury, Robert Arthur Fisher, 47, who listed an address in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue, faces 4 to 23 months in jail under a limited plea agreement. Fisher admitted he photographed or videotaped a child under 18 while she was in various stages of undress or nude for his sexual gratification.

Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Steven T. O’Neill put off sentencing until the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board evaluates Fisher to determine if he meets the criteria to be classified as a sexually violent predator, per the report. He faces a 25-year requirement to report his address to the state police under the terms of the Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act.

According to investigators, on June 24, 2024, a Souderton woman contacted borough police to report that she discovered evidence that Fisher had set up a hidden camera in her 17-year-old daughter’s bedroom and secretly recorded the girl “getting undressed and being in states of nudity,” according to a criminal complaint.

According to The Mercury, Fisher was recorded admitted he placed a “spy camera” in the victim’s bedroom.
