Two leadership appointments fill key roles at North Penn High School and district level
The North Penn School District Board of School Directors approved two administrative appointments at December action meetings, filling key leadership roles at North Penn High School and within the district’s technology department.
At its Dec. 10 meeting, the board approved the appointment of Jamar Alston, Ed.D., as assistant principal at North Penn High School. Alston replaced Kenneth Bui, who accepted a position as principal of A.M. Kulp Elementary School.
Alston joined North Penn High School with decades of experience in education, including service as assistant principal of Coatesville Intermediate High School since 2019. He also brought more than 10 years of classroom experience as a social studies teacher.
“We are very excited to have Jamar Alston join the North Penn High School administrative team,” said Superintendent Dr. Todd Bauer. “We look forward to Dr. Alston becoming a Knight”
!One week later, at the board’s Dec. 17 action meeting, directors approved the appointment of Lindsay Smith as the district’s new director of technology, effective March 2026. Smith replaced Kristen Landis, who retired after 10 years with the district.
Smith joined North Penn with nearly two decades of experience in education, most recently serving as assistant director of technology and innovation for Central Bucks School District. Her background also included roles as principal of Central Bucks Cyber, supervisor of educational technology, and classroom teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels. Smith also co-created the QUEST program, a STEM-focused curriculum in Central Bucks.
“We are excited to welcome Lindsay Smith to North Penn as the new Director of Technology,” said Bauer. “Her years of experience both as a classroom teacher and as a leader in educational technology will help us to continue our advancements in technology and ultimately improve student outcomes. We look forward to having Ms. Smith join our team.”
Both appointments were approved unanimously, and district officials welcomed Alston and Smith as they prepared to begin their new roles within North Penn.
