Borough officials said citizen participation through boards, committees, commissions and task forces remains a vital part of local governance
The Lansdale Borough is seeking residents interested in playing a hands-on role in shaping the community, with current vacancies open on both the Economic Development Committee and the Police Pension Board of Trustees.
Borough officials said citizen participation through boards, committees, commissions and task forces remains a vital part of local governance.
Applications are now being accepted to fill one vacancy on the Economic Development Committee (EDC) and one vacancy on the Police Pension Board of Trustees.
Interested residents were asked to submit a letter of interest outlining any relevant background or experience that may benefit the committee or board to which they are applying to join on borough government.
Letters may be mailed to Board Vacancies, c/o Stacie Maile, One Vine St., Lansdale, PA 19446, or submitted by email to [email protected]. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
The Economic Development Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Borough Hall council chambers. The committee is tasked with championing economic development throughout Lansdale’s historic Main Street, commercial corridors and industrial areas, with a focus on improving residents’ quality of life, attracting private investment, creating jobs, and encouraging the adaptive reuse of underutilized properties.
The EDC serves as a liaison between borough government and existing or prospective businesses, coordinates marketing efforts aimed at targeted industries, and works closely with the Lansdale Business Alliance and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County.
The committee also collaborates with residents and business owners to help shape a shared vision for the borough’s future, while reporting directly to Borough Council with recommendations, business leads and community feedback.
Current EDC members include Chair Andrew Carroll, Vice Chair and Well Crafted co-owner Doug Bellenger, Councilman BJ Breish, Councilman Michael Yetter, Thomas McKee, Peter Worthington, Rob Panico, and Tony Di Domizio.
Correspondence for the committee may be sent to ATTN: Economic Development Committee, Lansdale Borough Hall, 1 Vine Street, Lansdale PA 19446.
The borough is also seeking an applicant to fill a vacancy on the Police Pension Board of Trustees, which meets on an as-needed basis.
The board is responsible for managing, investing and monitoring the borough’s Police Pension Fund. Current members include Officer Nick Oropeza, with Sgt. Adrienne Gori serving as alternate for the police vote, Councilwoman Carrie Oglesby, William Allen Jr., Ray Liberto, Ken Morgan and Peter Derstine.
Officials encouraged residents with an interest in civic service, financial oversight or economic development to consider applying, noting that citizen involvement plays a key role in guiding policy decisions and strengthening the borough’s long-term stability.
