A monthly view into Lansdale’s Economic Development Committee
In an exciting commitment to Lansdale’s business community, Lansdale Borough is set to hire a Main Street Manager, marking a new chapter in the Borough’s ongoing efforts to foster economic growth and community engagement.
In 2025, Lansdale’s Economic Development Committee recognized the need for a dedicated leader to coordinate revitalization projects, support local businesses, and enhance the vibrancy of our business districts. EDC proposed funding the role and Council approved funding the Main Street Manager program up to $150K in the 2026 budget.
The Main Street Manager will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to support existing businesses, to attract new businesses, and to improve the overall appeal of the downtown area. These strategies include:
Main Street Manager role is just one of the EDC’s goals for 2026 and beyond. Other immediate goals include creating a Welcome Packet for prospective businesses, enhancing social media promotion for businesses, collaborating with the Parking Authority to address the parking needs of business owners, and exploring opportunities for shared maintenance and improvement of storefronts, sidewalks, and public spaces.
Members of Borough Council, Discover Lansdale, and Strong Towns are collaborating to write and submit a grant application for the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Main Street Matters program.
If accepted, this program designates Lansdale as a Main Street and opens access to revitalization funding, grants to offset program costs such as the Main Street Manager role, and other related activities.
The application period has closed and, to date, several candidates have applied and the Borough is planning to select and start a Main Street Manager by early spring.
In the year ahead, you can expect to read several updates from Lansdale’s Economic Development Committee as we continue to share our strategy, efforts, and accomplishments.
