A Wayne County man with three prior retail theft convictions is facing retail theft and related charges after police said he stole three e-readers from the Best Buy on Bethlehem Pike in Montgomeryville and left without paying.

Patrick Frank Fisher, 60, of the 400 block of Martini Road, Lake Ariel, located in the Poconos region of the state, was charged Saturday with felony retail theft and misdemeanor receiving stolen property by Montgomery Township Police.

According to an affidavit, police responded to Best Buy, 801 Bethlehem Pike, on Feb. 6, 2026 for a report of a retail theft that loss prevention said occurred Jan. 31.

Police said surveillance video showed a white Kia Sorento with Pennsylvania registration arriving at the store around 2:40 p.m., and a man later identified as Fisher entering the building.

Inside the store, police said Fisher selected three e-readers, including two Colorsoft Base 16GB E-Readers priced at $250 each and one Kindle Paperwhite (32GB) priced at $200, for a total loss of $700.

Police said Fisher then concealed the devices in his waistband and exited the store without paying.

On Feb. 21, police said the same vehicle was spotted traveling northbound on Bethlehem Pike and a traffic stop was conducted, in the parking lot of Buckman’s Ski Shop.

Police said the occupants were identified as a female driver and Fisher, who was in the front passenger seat.

Investigators said Fisher was wearing the same hat and shoes seen in the Best Buy surveillance footage and had the same jacket associated with the incident, which police said helped confirm his identity using the photos provided by loss prevention.

Fisher was jailed on $77 cash bail, which is a probation/parole detainer, per court records. A preliminary hearing is set for March 3 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
