The Lansdowne man was allegedly causing a disturbance to motorists at the East Broad Street and South County Line Road intersection
An aggravated assault charge and additional misdemeanor offenses were held for Montgomery County Common Pleas Court at a preliminary hearing last week for a Bucks County man accused of resisting arrest and attacking a Souderton police officer.
Timothy Andrew Snyder, 38, of the 30th block of Oxford Street, Lansdowne, is also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to charging documents.
On Jan. 7, 2026, at 12:42 p.m., Souderton Police went to the Sunoco at 672 E. Broad St. for a report of a man, alleged to be Snyder, causing a public annoyance by yelling at passersby and waving his arms. Snyder was told about the complaints and asked to cease his behavior, police said.
Then, at 1:47 p.m., police were dispatched again to the Sunoco for a report of man stumbling in the roadway and yelling at motorists, police said. Snyder was allegedly found on the sidewalk at the corner of East Broad Street and South County Line Road, where he was told of the complaints.
Police saw a can of Steel Reserve spiked orange soda on the ground next to Snyder, per the complaint. An odor of alcohol was on his breath when he spoke, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was stumbling as he spoke to police, according to the allegations.
Snyder, police said, was not in agreement with the complaints and began to walk away from officers, stumbling as he walked and losing his balance. Officers began to take him into custody for public drunkenness, but he allegedly pulled away from police and resisted arrest.
Snyder, police said, then hit an officer with an open hand claw to the throat. The defendant was taken to the ground and restrained, as other officers assisted in taking him into custody, according to the complaint.
At Montgomery County jail, a secondary search of Snyder found a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana and a metal case with a small amount of suspected marijuana in it, police said.
Authorities charged Snyder with aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, drug possession, and summary public drunkenness, according to court records.
