Lansdale Borough Electric will continue replacing electric meters throughout the borough through March 2026 as part of ongoing service upgrades.

The work began in early January and is being completed by contracted crews from Wesco. Workers will be wearing identification badges, and residents may see white vans with out-of-state plates — including Illinois — as part of the project.

Borough officials said the crews are authorized and working to upgrade electric service throughout the community.

Starting or stopping service

Lansdale Electric also reminded residents that starting or stopping electric service can be completed online or in person at Borough Hall, One Vine St., Suite 201.

New customers or existing customers initiating service at a new location must apply for service. Applications can be submitted by email to [email protected] or delivered in person to the Customer Service Department.

Required documentation for new service includes:

  • Valid state- or federally issued photo identification
  • Copy of a signed lease (signed by tenant and landlord)
  • Completed application form

Officials noted that service start dates cannot fall on holidays or weekends. An account number will be assigned following the first billing cycle.

Residents renting houses or apartments within Lansdale Borough must sign up for electric service.

Customers needing to stop service must provide:

  • Stop service date
  • Name on the electric account
  • Service address
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address for final bill or refund
  • Account number, if available

Requests to stop service can be emailed to [email protected] or handled by contacting Customer Service at 215-368-1691. Service end dates also cannot fall on holidays or weekends.
