If you hear laughter echoing across Spring Mountain Friday night, it is probably the sound of amphibians in snowshoes.
The Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy is hosting its Frosty Frogger Lights-Out Snowshoe Scavenger Hunt at Spring Mountain, 757 Spring Mountain Road, Upper Salford Township (Schwenksville GPS), on Friday.
Registration begins at 8 p.m. in the lower Spring Mount lot near the Perkiomen Trail, with the hunt kicking off around 9 p.m. once the lights go dark.
The $25 BYOS option invites participants to bring their own snowshoes, while a $30 registration includes snowshoe rental. ($5 add-on to rent your own shoes)
From there, the evening becomes equal parts hill climb, scavenger hunt and glow-up winter party. Participants will bound, stomp and scramble through the snow in search of Frosty Frogger’s elusive treasure treats, which start flowing around 9:45 p.m.
Organizers encourage creativity along with cardio. Award categories include Best Glow, Best Costume and Best Group Costume for coordinated duos and teams.
Whether it is your first time on snowshoes or you simply enjoy doing slightly ridiculous things in the cold with friends, this after-hours adventure leans hard into winter fun.
