Court orders consecutive sentences after Lansdale man pleads guilty to three separate drunken driving incidents within 2 months

A Lansdale man admitted to driving drunk in Lansdale's West Ward last March – which was his third DUI charge within a two-month period –  and was sentenced last week to a consecutive seven years and six months confinement.

In addition to the Lansdale arrest and conviction, Kevin Todd Morgan, 61, of the 700 block of Delaware Avenue, was sentenced for two other DUI offenses in Upper Gwynedd Township that occurred over a 2-day period.

According to court documents, Morgan also pleaded guilty last week to misdemeanor DUI and was sentenced to three days’ served to six months in county jail for a Jan. 29, 2025 arrest. He also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI from a Jan. 28, 2025 arrest in Upper Gwynedd, and was sentenced to 92 days’ served to five years.

In the Lansdale arrest, Morgan pleaded guilty to felony DUI of the third offense before Common Pleas Judge Thomas M. DelRicci, according to court records.

Three misdemeanor charges of DUI and a summary reckless driving offense were dismissed against Morgan.

All three jail terms were ordered to be served consecutively, according to court documents.

According to court order, Morgan’s license will be suspended by PennDOT.

In the Lansdale arrest, at 3:53 p.m. March 2, 2025, a caller reported an alleged reckless driver in a black BMW in the area of Delaware and Mitchell avenues, swerving in and out of traffic.

Upon arrival to the intersection, police found a black BMW with California registration stopped on Delaware Avenue, west of Cannon Avenue, police said.

The driver, identified as Morgan, was slumped over in the driver’s seat, police said.

Officers made contact with Morgan by knocking on the window. He opened the door, and police saw the car was in reverse with Morgan’s foot on the brake, police said.

Morgan was told several times to place the car in park, but he was unable to do so, according to the complaint. Officers then put the car in park for him.

Police detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from within the car, police said. Two Four Loko cans were in plain view in the center console, with one open and partially consumed, according to the affidavit.

Morgan failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, police said.

The defendant’s story does not end here – the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court is awaiting a plea from Morgan on charges of felony DUI and summary driving offenses from an April 28, 2025 arrest in Lansdale Borough, according to court documents.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records
