Riders on SEPTA Regional Rail lines are seeing updated timetables this week, as the transit agency rolled out new schedules effective Sunday, Feb. 1.

SEPTA adjusts Regional Rail schedules four times a year to improve reliability and account for infrastructure work and capital projects. Officials said this round of changes is relatively minor, with most adjustments involving small timing shifts and a few service tweaks.

Systemwide highlights

The new schedules include slight service increases on the Wilmington, Trenton and Chestnut Hill East lines, along with added frequency from Wayne Junction to the Airport. SEPTA also continues to add rail cars to trains as more vehicles return to service following federally mandated inspections and repairs. Additional cars on peak-hour trains are aimed at reducing crowding and minimizing skipped stops.

On the Fox Chase Line, continuous welded rail work will require shuttle bus substitutions between Fox Chase and Wayne Junction stations on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Friday, April 3.

Lansdale/Doylestown Line changes

Weekday riders on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line will notice minor timing adjustments, with select trains running anywhere from three minutes earlier to 10 minutes later.

  • Train 6592, previously departing Suburban Station at 4:34 p.m., now leaves at 4:31 p.m. and operates local service to Lansdale.
  • Train 6594, the 4:50 p.m. departure from Suburban Station, now runs express to Jenkintown-Wyncote before continuing local service to Doylestown.

Weekend trains on the line have also been adjusted slightly, generally by just a few minutes earlier or later.

Warminster Line changes

On the Warminster Line, some weekday train numbers have changed and select trips now operate up to three minutes later than before. SEPTA also added Train 6419, which departs Glenside at 8:40 a.m.

No weekend schedule changes were announced for the Warminster Line.

SEPTA encourages riders to check updated timetables before traveling, as not all stops on an adjusted train may see the same time change. Schedules and real-time arrival information are available at septa.org and through the SEPTA app.
