A Camden, NJ man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check at a Montgomery Township bank drawn on a business account of a Bucks County pizza shop.

Joshua Louis Santos, 32, of the 900 block of Central Avenue, is charged with two felony counts each of access device fraud and forgery, along with additional misdemeanor counts including bad checks and possession of an altered access device, stemming from an April 8, 2026 incident at TD Bank on Bethlehem Pike, according to charging documents.

Santos, who is free on bail, is also accused of similar felony charges in Horsham Township on the same day.

According to the affidavit, Montgomery Township Police responded to the bank around 12:55 p.m. for a report of a man attempting to cash a suspicious check.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Santos, who had presented a New Jersey identification card and debit card while attempting to cash a $2,530.18 check.

Police said the check was issued to Santos from Meglio Rustica LLC, the owner of Meglio Pizza in Newtown, but bank employees contacted the business and were told the check had not been authorized and that Santos was not known to them.

Investigators confirmed with the business owner that the check was fraudulent, according to the complaint.

Authorities allege Santos knowingly attempted to obtain funds using the unauthorized check, leading to charges including access device fraud, forgery for altering and uttering a forged writing, and related offenses.

Santos is free on $5,000 unsecured bail in the Montgomery Township arrest.

Furthermore, on the same day, Horsham Township Police charged Santos with two felony counts each of attempted forgery and attempted access device fraud, and misdemeanor attempted writing bad checks, according to court records. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bail in that case as well.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 28 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy on the Montgoery Township arrest. A preliminary hearing is set for May 21 before Magisterial District Judge Todd Stephens.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
