Souderton shook off an early deficit and leaned on a balanced offensive attack and timely defense to earn an 8-6 win over Central Bucks West in SOL National Conference play Thursday night.

Trailing 2-0 after the opening quarter, Big Red responded with a three-goal second period and never trailed again, improving to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play, according to gameplay coverage from The Reporter..The win marked a strong bounce-back after a lopsided loss to Ridley in their previous outing.

Souderton’s offense spread the production across the lineup, with six different players scoring and four recording assists, according to the report. Chris Tuohey and Cameron Ruff each scored twice, while contributions from Shaun Whitcomb, Ty Sauerwald, Logan Blair and Brody Anderson highlighted the team’s depth.

After CB West tied the game 4-4 late in the third quarter, Souderton responded with a decisive 4-0 run bridging the third and fourth quarters to build an 8-4 advantage.

Tuohey assisted on what proved to be the game-winning goal, setting up Sauerwald for a key finish, per gameplay coverage. Goalie Andrew Rivera anchored the defensive effort with nine saves.

Souderton heads into a pivotal stretch next week with matchups against Perkiomen Valley and Central Bucks East.
