Souderton opened SOL Colonial Division play with a statement performance Tuesday, riding a dominant outing from Trent Lutz in a 1-0 win over Pennridge, according to The Mercury.

Lutz struck out 15 and allowed just one hit in a complete-game shutout, while Evan Divens scored the game’s lone run in the fourth inning after a leadoff double and error, per gameplay coverage.

North Penn came up just short in its division opener, falling 2-1 to Central Bucks East on a walk-off single in the seventh inning, according to the article.. Brighton Fontaine delivered a strong start with 10 strikeouts, while the Knights managed just two hits in the loss after taking an early 1-0 lead.

Gameplay coverage said Lansdale Catholic faced a tough outing against St. Joseph’s Prep, which erupted early and never let up in a three-inning contest.

Prep plated nine runs in the first inning and added 17 more in the second, overpowering the Crusaders in Philadelphia Catholic League play, per the article.

Across the area, the results reflected both the highs and growing pains of early-season play, with strong pitching performances and late-inning drama setting the tone for division competition ahead. Read more results here.
