The Knights were down to their final out before putting together the late surge, capped by a walk-off RBI single from Wil Rittenhouse
North Penn baseball rallied in dramatic fashion Wednesday, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Conestoga, 4-3, in a non-league matchup.
The Knights were down to their final out before putting together the late surge, capped by a walk-off RBI single from Wil Rittenhouse, according to The Mercury.
Trailing 3-0 late, North Penn got on the board in the sixth inning when Grayson Fontaine launched a solo home run. The momentum carried into the seventh, where Logan Waynick and Christian Barnes reached base to spark the rally.
After an intentional walk loaded the bases, Bud Murphy delivered a two-run single to tie the game, setting the stage for Rittenhouse’s game-winning hit, according to gameplay coverage.
Rittenhouse finished 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Murphy added two hits and two RBIs. On the mound, Isaac Whaley provided key relief, throwing scoreless innings to keep the Knights within striking distance and allow the comeback to unfold.
The win came as North Penn continues to evaluate its lineup early in the season through non-league games, which do not impact district standings.
