The North Penn construction recently came to an alarming halt as a certain discovery in the courtyard has created disarray across the district. The school’s construction team has just unearthed a notebook belonging to the John Oates- a North Penn Alumnus and popular artist- from 1966.

As groundbreaking as this is to the music industry, there will be no more groundbreaking in the North Penn courtyard- as this is now hallowed grounds. Finding such an important artifact has the county ordering a complete stop within this area. North Penn will be seeing an array of reporters coming in and out of the school as news has started to spread rapidly. Administrators are scrambling to figure out what happens next, both for the construction timeline and the unexpected attention. Rumors have already begun circulating about whether more artifacts could be hidden beneath the school grounds.

Inside the book; lyrics, scribbles and notes consume the pages. Revealing that talent is definitely not instant but developed over time. Reinforcing the idea that persistence and a couple humbling years outside of high school are essential to success. Fans across the continent will be shocked to see the different directions of his original works, which are now famous hits. Songs like “Rich girl”, “Maneater”, and “You make my dreams” went through major glow ups from the original titles scribbled throughout the lyric journal.

“Slightly wealthy woman”
“She’s an eater of worlds and men”
“You make life slightly pleasant”

So listeners can be very thankful he let them marinate for a little longer. For what might’ve sounded like a questionable rough draft at first- ended up becoming something way more polished and actually worth blasting in the car. Instead of dropping the first version and calling it a day, we can be glad he waited. In a way, the notebook proves that great music isn’t rushed- it’s cooked. Every crossed out line shows that even iconic songs had their “maybe not..” moment.

In the end, what started as a frustrating pause in construction turned into something way more meaningful- and cooler- than anyone expected. While the halted courtyard project may have slowed things down physically, it shows a reminder that not everything comes from finishing first- and that sometimes progress needs to stop for something better to come out of it.
