A group of local volunteers is calling on the community to lend a hand with planting 65 new trees and shrubs in Chalfont this weekend.
The planting effort will take place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Twin Streams Park and Strong Family Park. Volunteers are asked to meet at Twin Streams Park at 10 a.m., with parking available at Blue Jay and Cardinal Roads.
Participants should bring gloves, shovels, and trowels. All other supplies will be provided.
Organizers say the project is an important step in strengthening the parks’ natural habitats while enhancing green spaces for the community.
