North Wales Elementary School will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at the school, located at 201 Summit Street.
The ceremony will celebrate the grand opening of the mosaic wall, a collaborative effort between the school and community.
Students participated in the design process during their art classes, learning how to make their own tiles and arrange them.
Staff and community members also had opportunities to participate and volunteer for the project. Over the summer, parents behind the mural told The Reporter that planning began nearly three years ago as an initiative to upgrade playground equipment, landscaping and accessibility upgrades, with the mosaic mural filled with tiles decorated by students, staff and community members from across the district.
The families who have dedicated their time, labor, and creative plans will be in attendance at the ribbon cutting.
The mosaic wall was funded in collaboration with North Wales Home and School, the NPSD Educational Foundation, and other community partners.
