Field hockey survives 4-3 battle at Downingtown East, boys soccer blanks Boyertown 1-0
North Penn field hockey and boys soccer both picked up non-league wins Saturday, with the Knights showing grit on the road and at home.
According to The Times Herald, in field hockey, Devon Crowley sparked the offense with a goal and an assist as North Penn built a 2-0 lead in the first quarter and held on for a 4-3 victory over Downingtown East.
Cara Albano and Paige Shearer also scored while goalkeeper Kiley Moister recorded 11 saves, according to the gameplay report. The Knights (4-4 overall, 2-3 SOL Colonial) have now won back-to-back games and three of their last four.
On the soccer pitch, Gavin Keijzer’s first-half header off a corner kick stood as the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Boyertown. The result gave the Knights (5-2-1, 2-2-1 SOL Colonial) a bounce-back performance after going winless in their previous two outings.
