State police and turnpike workers will be available to assist drivers at both work sites
A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension will be closed early Sunday morning as part of the continuing widening project.
Northbound Interstate 476 will be shut down between Lansdale (exit 31) and Quakertown (exit 44) from midnight to 3 a.m. so crews can install an overhead sign and message board. Southbound lanes will remain open.
During the closure, travelers should take the following detour:
Additionally, the Morgantown interchange (exit 298) on the mainline turnpike in Berks County will be closed between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday to allow crews to remove the overhead toll gantry. It is part of the demolition process for the toll booths, which are being replaced by open road tolling.
