Over the past few years, we have watched Towamencin Township head in a direction that concerns us deeply. Large-scale development proposals, such as the Bird Farm on Old Forty Foot Road and Pinnacle’s plans for Freddy Hill, threaten to overwhelm our community with density far beyond what our township was ever meant to sustain.

These projects would more than triple the number of homes currently permitted under existing zoning. To put this in perspective:

  • The Bird Farm property, zoned R-200, allows for approximately 12 to 14 homes under today’s zoning.
  • The Freddy Hill property, zoned R-175, allows for about 141 homes by right.

Yet with rezoning, developers are seeking approval for massive increases. These projects would burden our schools, strain our first responders, worsen traffic, and erase valuable open space and natural habitats.

We are running for Township Supervisor because we believe Towamencin deserves better. We believe residents, NOT developers, should set the direction of our township. That is why we are proud to support the petitioners’ committee working to advance a Home Rule Charter initiative. This petition specifically calls for amending the Mixed Residential Cluster (MRC) requirement. By doing so, it raises the bar for large-scale zoning changes that dramatically increase density, helping to protect residents from unchecked development.

This isn’t just about numbers on a page. It’s about whether our children will attend safe, manageable schools. It’s about whether our firefighters can respond effectively in an emergency. It’s about whether Towamencin will remain a community defined by its neighborhoods and green spaces or one overwhelmed by congestion and overdevelopment.

We are asking all residents to stand with us:

  • Sign the petition to ensure your voice is heard at Town Talk Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the municipal building at 1090 Troxel Road.
  • Talk with your neighbors about why this matters.
  • Come out on Nov. 4 and vote for new leadership that will listen to the people of Towamencin.

We are committed to transparency, accountability, and preserving the character of our township. Together, we can take a firm stand and safeguard the future of Towamencin.
