FXPro Review: The Broker That Makes You Ask "Are They Good or Just Good at Marketing?"

  • zzz do not use ews from our network

Let's start with a confession - I've had an FXPro account since 2016, and I still can't decide if I love them or just tolerate them. There's something about this broker that feels simultaneously premium and frustratingly average. Maybe it's their slick advertising, or maybe it's that they've managed to stay relevant since 2006 without any major scandals. Either way, they're worth a closer look.

First Impressions: All That Glitters...

FXPro's website screams "professional broker" with its minimalist design and lack of obnoxious bonus pop-ups. The account opening process is... thorough. I mean really thorough. We're talking "please provide documentation proving your grandmother's maiden name" levels of KYC. It took me three days to get fully verified, which in 2024 feels almost archaic.

They're regulated by:

  • FCA (UK)
  • CySEC (Cyprus)
  • FSCA (South Africa)
  • SCB (Bahamas)

That's an impressive list, but let's be real - most traders will end up with their CySEC or FSCA entity unless you're a high roller.

Trading Conditions: The Good, The Bad, and The "Meh"

FXPro offers four account types:

  1. MT4 Instant - commission-free, spreads from 1.5 pips
  2. MT4/MT5 Market - commission-based, spreads from 0 pips
  3. cTrader - their best offering, tight spreads + commission
  4. FXPro Edge - for algo traders (requires $5k minimum)

Here's where things get interesting. Their cTrader account is genuinely good - spreads regularly hit 0.0 on EUR/USD during London hours with $35 per million traded in commissions. Not the cheapest, but execution is razor sharp.

The MT4 Market account? Less impressive. I've seen spreads jump to 3 pips during mildly volatile conditions. And their "Instant" account with wider spreads? Basically exists to trap newbies who don't understand commission structures.

Execution Quality: Mostly Solid With Occasional WTF Moments

FXPro's execution is:

  • Generally fast (sub-50ms on cTrader)
  • Mostly reliable during normal hours
  • Occasionally weird during news events

I've had NFP trades execute with minimal slippage, and other times watched my limit orders get ignored like bad Tinder matches. Their No Dealing Desk model seems legit most of the time, but there's definitely some internalization happening during volatile periods.

One thing they do well - stop hunting isn't obvious. My stops usually get respected, which is more than I can say for some "ECN" brokers.

Platforms: Where FXPro Actually Shines

This is FXPro's strong suit:

  • MT4/MT5 (standard but well-integrated)
  • cTrader (excellent implementation)
  • FXPro Edge (for algo traders)
  • Mobile apps (surprisingly good)

Their cTrader platform is where they beat most competitors. The one-click trading actually works, the depth of market is real, and the charting doesn't look like it's from 2008. I switched to cTrader full-time after getting fed up with MT4's limitations.

The mobile app? Probably the best broker app I've used. Stable, intuitive, and doesn't make me want to throw my phone across the room when I need to close a position quickly.

Deposits & Withdrawals: The Good Kind of Boring

Here's where broker FXPro exceeds expectations:

  • Deposits: Instant (cards/e-wallets) to 1 day (bank wires)
  • Withdrawals: Usually processed same day
  • Fees: Mostly covered by FXPro

I've made 12 withdrawals over three years. Eleven came within 24 hours; one took 48 hours because of a bank delay. No horror stories, no "pending for weeks" nonsense. Just... banking done right.

Customer Support: Hit or Miss

FXPro support exists in two states:

  1. Remarkably competent (30% of the time)
  2. Reading from a script written in 2012 (70% of the time)

I once had a leverage question answered perfectly in under 5 minutes. Another time spent 40 minutes explaining what a trailing stop is to someone who clearly thought MT4 was a new BMW model. Email support tends to be better than live chat.

Leverage: Sensible But Limited

Depending on regulation:

  • FCA/CySEC: 1:30 (retail), 1:200 (professional)
  • FSCA: Up to 1:500
  • SCB: Up to 1:500

No crazy 1:1000 leverage here. FXPro seems to understand that responsible traders don't need financial suicide options. Their margin calls are predictable and their negative balance protection actually works.

Research & Education: Better Than Expected

For a broker that doesn't shout about it, FXPro offers:

  • Daily technical analysis (actually useful)
  • Trading webinars (no fluff)
  • Economic calendar (well-integrated)
  • Market news (surprisingly timely)

It's not Bloomberg level, but it's better than most brokers at this tier. Their daily reports have saved me from a few bad trades over the years.

What Real Traders Are Saying

The consensus among serious traders:

  • "Best cTrader implementation in retail forex"
  • "Withdrawals are reliable"
  • "Not the cheapest, but execution is good"
  • "Support is hit or miss"
  • "Avoid the Instant account"

Notice the lack of extreme opinions? FXPro seems to inspire neither fanatical love nor bitter hatred - just quiet respect.

Who Should (And Shouldn't) Use FXPro?

Ideal for:

  • Serious retail traders
  • cTrader users
  • Those who value execution over gimmicks
  • Traders who need reliable withdrawals

Not ideal for:

  • Beginners needing hand-holding
  • High-frequency traders
  • Bonus hunters
  • Those wanting ultra-high leverage

The Final Verdict: A Grown-Up Broker

FXPro won't dazzle you with crazy promotions or revolutionary features. What they offer is something rarer in retail forex: consistent, reliable trading conditions. Their cTrader platform is excellent, execution is generally good, and they don't play games with client funds.

Are they perfect? No. The MT4 conditions could be better, the support inconsistent, and the account verification process is tedious. But in an industry full of shady operators, FXPro's professionalism is refreshing.

Final score: 8/10 - One of the better choices for serious traders who want a reliable, no-nonsense broker. Not exciting, but consistently good - which in forex is exciting enough.
