The Souderton Area High School will be re-certified as a National Banner Unified Champion School by the Special Olympics.
Souderton is one of 132 high schools nationwide recognized as a National Banner school, according to a news release.
In addition, Souderton Area High School was the first school in the state to receive the honor once before – in 2017.
Special Olympics Pennsylvania President & CEO Matthew B. Aaron appreciated the Unified Champion Schools partnership with Souderton and expressed pride for the values which are embraced every day by the school community: inclusion, respect, understanding, and empowerment.
“Through the uplifting culture promoted by the students and staff at Souderton Area High School, everyone is valued and contributes meaningfully through their unique talents. And everyone is included,” he said.
