From the volleyball team’s championship sweep of CB West to field hockey’s fierce fight against Souderton and golf’s top-tier finish, the Knights continue to shine in league play
It has been a week of both grit and glory for North Penn High School athletics. From the turf to the court to the course, Knights athletes showed why fall sports in Lansdale remain among the area’s most competitive.
Field hockey battles hard in senior night loss to Souderton
The North Penn field hockey team gave visiting Souderton all it could handle Wednesday night before falling 2-1 in a hard-fought Suburban One League Colonial Division matchup, according to The Mercury.
Despite a slow start, the Knights surged back after halftime on a goal by Brooke Goewey, cutting the deficit in half. Goalie Kiley Moister anchored the defense with eight saves as North Penn nearly evened things late, per the gameplay report.
Coach Shannon McCracken praised her team’s resilience, noting that while the Knights’ season has had ups and downs, they remain in the mix for a District 1-3A playoff spot — potentially their seventh straight postseason appearance.

Volleyball sweeps CB West to claim league championship
Inside the North Penn gym Tuesday night, the energy was electric as the girls volleyball team clinched the SOL Continental Conference championship with a commanding 3-0 sweep over Central Bucks West, according to The Mercury.
Led by sisters Madlen and Sofie Potrusilova along with Maya Mikulski, the Knights dominated at the net with key blocks and balanced offense. The victory improved North Penn to 14-0 (10-0 conference) and marked just the second league title in program history — and the first outright, according to the report.
“This team just clicks so well,” senior Madlen Potrusilova told The Mercury. “Our mentality is excellent, and we just keep pushing.”
The undefeated Knights now look to close out the regular season strong before turning their attention to the District 1-4A playoffs, where they currently rank fourth.
Golfers rise to the occasion at SOL Tournament
On the fairways of Five Ponds Golf Club, North Penn’s Kellen Toussaint turned in another strong postseason performance, shooting a 3-over 74 to tie for second place at the Suburban One League Boys Golf Tournament, according to The Mercury.
Toussaint’s consistency — 14 pars on the day — secured him one of 40 qualifying spots for the upcoming District 1-3A Championships, according to the article. Teammate Parker Bohn also finished in the top 10, carding a 4-over 75.
“I didn’t have my best stuff, but I putted great and shot pretty low,” Toussaint told The Mercury. “I’m happy with how I played.”
