Starting a 0.5k race with a beer, having another littler beer halfway at Lansdale Library, and topped by another beer at the Lansdale Freight House to kick off Oktoberfest was not the wurst idea.

Discover Lansdale’s Zer0.5K started Sunday afternoon at Main and Wood, ran along Derstine Avenue to Vine Street, then finished at Vine and Broad Streets.

There were participation medals for all, bigger medals for winners, and a costume contest as part of the day.

The centerpiece of the event was the freight house itself, where progress is being made on its renovation.

According to Discover Lansdale, race winners were Noah Zollner at first, Trevor Cloak at second and Robert Walter at third. Husband and wife duo Pedro Bucio and Ada Artiga, co-owners of El Limon restaurant, won the Beer Stein holding contest.

Ring Consulting Group sponsored the Zer0.5K and Oktoberfest, our WUNDERBAR volunteers, and to all who came out, cheered, danced, and celebrated with us. Zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi! 🍂🍺
