Pennsylvania kickoff to be held on Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m.
In 2005, the Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx launched Trees for Troops to provide free farm-grown Christmas trees to the United States armed forces members.
Since its founding, the program has delivered 326,273 real Christmas trees to military families.
Bustard’s Christmas Trees, founded in 1929, has been a loyal Trees for Troops supporter from the beginning, according to a news release.
That first year, Jay Bustard stated, “Our goal is to bring a little bit of home to our troops and to show how much we appreciate what they do for us here and in other countries.”
Over the past two decades, Bustard’s has given more than 1,000 real trees to T4T.
“Our generous customers have presented even more,” noted Bustard.
Customers can now donate a tree to be delivered to a military base for $45 per tree.
In honor of T4T’s 20th anniversary, Bustard’s will host the 2025 Pennsylvania Kickoff on Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to noon, according to a news release.
The ceremony begins with remarks from state Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding.
Other planned participants include state Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, 24th Senatorial District; state Rep. Matt Bradford, 70th Legislative District, and North Penn High School ROTC Advisor Jean-Andre Parmiter.
“We hope to have a large turnout of military members and the public,” said Bustard. “Everyone will have an opportunity to purchase a tree for our troops. Trees for Troops will continue all weekend, so anyone who misses the state kickoff can still donate a tree.
“They will also have the opportunity to write letters and thank-you notes to the troops,” continued Bustard. “New this year is a T4T Wishing Well. Anyone can put their message in the well at no charge, and we will send it to the troops. I believe people are particularly grateful to our military personnel this year and will welcome this free service.”

Its award-winning trees (and wreaths) are pre-cut and ready to go. It offers Douglas fir, Fraser fir, blue spruce, concolor fir, balsam fire and Nordman fir options.
Trees are available from two feet to 15 feet and are priced by type and size, not by the foot. Prices begin at $92.
