Well Crafted Beer Co., El Limon, Creative Edge Center for the Arts, and North Penn Marching Knights were top winners at the 74th annual Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday afternoon.
All four winners each took home two awards from the show, voted on by a panel of judges, including political stalwarts, borough employees, and business owners, as well as People’s Choice winners voted on by the attending public.
Why is it called "Mardi Gras Parade" in November? Long story short: A committee of people back in the 1950s asked the public to submit names and that was the best of the bunch.

Well Crafted took home Best Presentation of Parade Theme and Best Presentation of Commercial Entry. The bar and restaurant at 310 Madison St. was the only participant to sweep two float-category awards, making them the clear top overall winner.
Creative Edge Center for the Arts, based on Sumneytown Pike, a stone’s throw from Tex Mex Connection and Tony’s Pizza, in North Wales, took home First Place for Talent and Third Place for People’s Choice, placing in both a judged category and the public vote.
North Penn Marching Knights captured First Place for Marching Bands and First Place for People’s Choice – topping both the judges’ band rankings and the community vote.
El Limon, whose business sustained some minor fire damage following a Sunday midday incident during renovations, received the Mayor’s Choice Award and First Place for Walking.
