The Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Saturday with a gala attended by over 500 guests — the largest in the organization’s history.
The evening honored five decades of health and human services and highlighted a new era of community impact and leadership development, according to a news release.
The program featured the Foundation’s growing initiatives, including the Jaisohn Community Wellness Plaza in Montgomery Township and the Jaisohn Advocacy & James & Agnes Kim Leadership Institute, designed to improve access to care and nurture future community leaders.
Two major awards were presented:
Board and staff members with 20 to 45 years of service were also recognized for their long-standing dedication, according to the release.
Attendees included local and state leaders such as Secretary Valerie Arkoosh, Secretary Akbar Hossain, Senator Art Haywood, Montgomery County Commissioner Chair Neil Makhija, Representative Steve Malagari, Mayor Bob McMahon, and Consul Gilhyun Lee of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Washington, D.C.
“Thanks to the generosity of supporters, the gala will help expand programs that serve families, seniors, and community members across Montgomery County, the North Penn region, and Greater Philadelphia,” said the release. “The Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation looks forward to continuing the legacy of Dr. Philip Jaisohn and his ideals of democracy, freedom, and public service for the next 50 years.”
