The North Penn High School Environmental Action Club (ENACT) will host a community electronics recycling event on Saturday, Nov. 22, offering residents a free, drive-through drop-off from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the high school, 1340 S. Valley Forge Road. 

Drivers should enter from Valley Forge Road and will not need to leave their vehicles.

The event is held in partnership with PAR Recycle Works. Most items can be dropped off for free, though donations are appreciated. Free items accepted include:

Free to Drop Off:
• Cellphones and tablets
• Laptops
• Cords, wires and chargers
• Gaming consoles and gaming equipment
• Printers
• Keyboards
• A/V equipment
• Computer batteries
• Motherboards
• CD/DVD players
• Hard drives
• Speakers
• Routers
• Toasters
• Server cabinets
• Rechargeable batteries
• Computer towers
• Docking stations
• Many additional small household electronics

Items Accepted With a Fee:
• Plasma and flatscreen TVs — $30
• CRT monitors and CRT TVs — $40–$80, depending on size
• Projection TVs — $40–$80
• Dehumidifiers, humidifiers, air conditioners — $25
• Microwaves — $15
• Large CRT TVs — $80
• Computer monitors — $10

Fees may be paid by cash, credit card, or checks payable to PAR Recycleworks.

Items NOT Accepted:
• Any flammable or hazardous waste
• Clothing
• Helium tanks or fire extinguishers
• Car batteries or boat batteries
• Medical equipment with liquids
• Laser equipment
• E-bikes, hoverboards or e-scooters
• Refrigerators of any size
• Large household appliances (stoves, fridges, etc.)
• Light bulbs of all kinds
• Alkaline batteries
• Car motors
• Scrap metal
• Wall clocks containing batteries
• Construction materials

The ENACT Club encourages local residents to take advantage of the opportunity to safely recycle unwanted electronics and keep hazardous materials out of landfills. Let me know if you want a headline and subhead too!
