Hatfield Borough bar and restaurant opening Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to provide food, warmth, and community
Poppy’s Tavern in Hatfield Borough is opening its doors this Christmas with a message rooted in generosity: nobody in the community should spend the holiday hungry or alone.
The 64 E. Lincoln Ave. bar and restaurant announced it will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including a free buffet for anyone in need.
The tavern will operate Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., then reopen Christmas Day from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Between 4 and 6 p.m. on Christmas Day, the staff will serve a complimentary holiday food buffet for the first 100 guests who come through the door.
The owners said no questions will be asked, and no purchase is required — the intention is simply to make sure that anyone who needs a meal or a warm place is welcome.
“Whether you’re stopping by for a holiday meal or just need a warm place to be, you’re welcome here,” the tavern shared in its announcement.
The post emphasized the importance of togetherness during the holiday season and encouraged residents to spread the word to neighbors who may benefit.
