Paving project had been slated for mid-November
Work on a busy rail crossing in North Wales will wait until 2026.
Borough officials announced last week that the planned paving of a SEPTA rail crossing on Main Street near Montgomery Avenue has been pushed back.
“Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, SEPTA must postpone the renewal of the Main Street grade crossing until the spring of 2026,” said SEPTA.
In mid-October borough staff said they had been notified by SEPTA that work was scheduled for mid-November on the rail crossing, and that notifications of the work hours and detour routes would be posted by the town ahead of time; that work now won’t happen until the new year, according to an update from SEPTA to the borough.
“We will continue coordinating with the Borough, County, and PennDOT, to ensure that all of the necessary notifications, detours, and permits are in place,” the agency said.
North Wales borough council next meets at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the borough municipal building, 300 School Street. For more information, visit www.NorthWalesBorough.org.
