Saturday’s event supports Lansdale’s new temporary housing shelter and Shepherd’s Shelf pet food pantry
Residents from across the North Penn area are invited to “Do Some Good, Meet Your Neighbors” during two community donation drives on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Towamencin Township Administration Building, 1090 Troxel Road, benefiting humans and pets alike.
The gathering will benefit two local causes — the new temporary housing shelter in Lansdale and the Shepherd’s Shelf food pantry at Christ Lutheran Church in Towamencin, which is collecting pet food and supplies.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring new linens, towels, and kitchen items for the shelter, along with bags or cans of dog and cat food, treats, and litter for Shepherd’s Shelf.
Guests are welcome to stay, enjoy light refreshments, and spend time connecting with neighbors. The event’s theme, “Small gestures, big difference, strong community,” reflects its goal of building connections through simple acts of kindness.
Suggested donations include:
For the shelter: Bath towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, pot holders, and dish drying mats
For Shepherd’s Shelf: Dry dog food, canned/wet dog food of all sizes, dry cat food for adult cats and kittens, canned/wet cat food, especially pâté-style, cat litter, dog and cat treats
More than just a collection effort, organizers hope the afternoon will inspire residents to come together and strengthen the spirit of community that defines the North Penn area.
