iSmash, the fast-growing interactive entertainment brand known for its rage rooms, black light splatter painting and axe throwing, will soon be coming to Souderton.

Scheduled to open this holiday season in County Line Plaza, the site will mark the brand’s first location in Pennsylvania. Owner-operators Junho Kim and Chris Green signed a lease to open a total of six locations in the greater Philadelphia area.

Founded in 2018 by 21-year-old Steven Shortino in Rochester, New York, iSmash is designed to provide high-impact, immersive experiences for both children and adults. Venues offer a variety of smash, paint and axe throwing packages for individuals and groups as well as bookings for birthday parties, team-building outings and private events, said an iSmash press release.

Kim and Green, who have backgrounds in pharmaceutical engineering and corporate finance, respectively, said that they were drawn to iSmash for its innovative, family-focused entertainment offerings.

“We have two little kids, ages three and five, so we’re always going to birthday parties that have party room and a bunch of kids running around having a good time,” said Green. “So we thought this would be something we’d be interested in.”

“It’s not just entertainment; it’s a creative and stress-relieving outlet people are excited to try,” added Kim. “This will be something fresh for the community, and we’re creating a place where guests can connect and have a great time.”

iSmash Souderton will offer the classic three iSmash experiences. The primary experience will be the smash room, where guests ages 8+ can smash glass, ceramics and old electronics. Other experiences include black light neon splatter painting (ages 3+) and axe throwing (ages 14+). All equipment and materials will be provided, and special smash packages will offer guests their own smash boxes.

“People can let loose but in a safe and controlled environment,” said Green. “It gives people an opportunity to get out of the house and do something tangible with friends and family. You’re not just sitting playing video games. It’s a really fun, high-energy experience.”

The Souderton site is expected to be among the largest iSmash destinations. With the extra space, Kim and Green plan to introduce unique features or expand their event space to accommodate larger groups, said the release.

In a statement, Shortino said he is “thrilled” to have Junho and Chris introduce iSmash to the Greater Philadelphia market.

“Their proven business experience and commitment to building a strong presence in the community make them an ideal fit for our brand,” said Shortino. “This Souderton opening is just the beginning for them, and we’re confident their leadership will set the tone for iSmash’s continued expansion throughout the region.”

iSmash Souderton’s opening is tentatively scheduled for December 1. For more information on the opening and to book sessions, visit https://ismashusa.com/locations/pa-souderton/.
