Crash occurred Saturday afternoon on North Chestnut and East Fifth

  • Public Safety

Lansdale Police said a 13-year-old juvenile riding a scooter went through the posted stop sign on North Chestnut Street and ran into the rear passenger door of a Toyota RAV4 Saturday afternoon at 1:02 p.m.

No charges will be filed at this time, police said. The RAV4 had the right of way on East Fifth Street, police said.

The juvenile complained of pain following the accident and was transported to Jefferson Lansdale Hospital by VMSC Emergency Medical Services, according to police.

The intersection remained closed until 1:19 p.m.

The story corrects an initial report, in which emergency personnel first identified the injured teen as 17 years old via a 911 call.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.

Editor's Note: The story has been corrected to reflect that the teenage victim was cognizant after the crash.
