The accident occurred at East Fifth and North Chestnut streets
A 17-year-old boy was struck by a car while riding an electric scooter at East Fifth and North Chestnut streets in Lansdale Borough Saturday afternoon and taken from the scene to Jefferson Lansdale Hospital with non life-threatening injuries by VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
The accident occurred at 1 p.m.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle was speeding down East Fifth toward Line Street, when they struck the teen. The victim ended up facedown in the street, and the driver stayed on scene.
The front wheel of the scooter was damaged.
The victim was able to enter the ambulance on their own, with assistance from EMS personnel. The teen’s parents eventually arrived on scene, per reports.
