Rory McIlroy among favorites in Truist Championship trading odds at Kalshi
Golf betting at Kalshi is new and wildly popular thanks to real-time live odds and ease of in-play trading.
Since introducing sports event contracts earlier in 2025, golf betting has taken prediction markets by storm. Kalshi’s Masters Tournament winner market attracted over $86 million in trading volume in April, which dwarfed the $27 million in trades on the Super Bowl LIX winner at Kalshi just a few months earlier.
Traders are now turning their attention to the PGA Tour’s Truist Championship, which is running through Sunday, May 11 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club's Wissahickon Course in Flourtown, Pennsylvania. Through May 9, as Round 2 was progressing, Kalshi’s Truist Tournament winner market saw more than $10.3 million in trading.

Truist Championship details and how to bet PGA at Kalshi
The 2025 Truist Championship has attracted more than 70 top golfers from around the world, including defending Truist (and Masters) champion Rory McIlroy. This is the first year for the 22-year-old tournament under the Truist name; it was previously known as the Wells Fargo Championship.
This is also the first year the Truist Championship is being held in Pennsylvania. It usually takes place at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, but the course there is being prepped for next week’s PGA Championship, the winner of which you can also bet on at Kalshi.
With Kalshi’s “Truist Championship Winner?” market, traders can pick from all 72 participating golfers and select “Yes” or “No” as to whether that golfer will emerge victorious on May 11, the tournament's final day.
Before the start of the tournament on May 8, McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele were among the favorites to win. But as play advanced through Rounds 1 and 2, all of those golfers’ odds of winning at Kalshi dropped and new favorites emerged.
McIlroy’s odds of winning at Kalshi dropped to 11% at the end of Round 1, which led to a spike in trades that briefly caused the odds to spike to a high of 25%. Late in Round 2, McIlroy odds of winning were back at 11% when he was five strokes behind the leader and tied for fourth.
Late in Round 2 on May 9, Keith Mitchell was leading the field and had the best odds of winning it all at Kalshi (21%). Strong play from Shane Lowry in Round 2 put him in second place, just one stroke behind Mitchell, causing his Kalshi odds of winning to soar to 21% briefly before dropping slightly. Sepp Straka also played well in Round 2 and was just two strokes off the lead, leading to his odds in the Kalshi market rising to 18%.
Golfers to keep an eye on include Morikawa and Thomas, who were both tied with McIlroy for fourth late in Round 2. Those previous favorites’ odds of winning at Kalshi have fluctuated through the first two rounds, but dropped to around 5%, making the pricing ($.05 per “Yes” contract) a potentially great value.
