West Main Street is closed at Towamencin Avenue, after a Range Rover crashed into the steps at St. John's UCC
A black Range Rover crashed into the steps of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lansdale at West Main Street and N. Richardson Avenue Saturday afternoon, destroying the architecture and sending three people to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash was reported at 1:12 p.m. at 500 W. Main St., involving the Range Rover and a silver GMC Sierra pickup.
According to VMSC Emergency Medical Services dispatch, one patient was taken to Grand View Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, and two patients were taken to Lansdale Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pickup sustained heavy rear-end damage and at least one occupant was taken to the hospital. A pet dog in the vehicle was shaken, but safe and turned over to a neighbor.
The Range Rover sustained severe front-end damage in the crash.
The actual church building itself was not damaged.
