Lansdale Borough Police Department has issued a statement in recognition of International Women's Day:

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) — a day to recognize and honor the achievements of women in every aspect of life: social, economic, cultural, and political.

It is also a call to action for individuals, communities, and organizations to advance gender equity and create a more inclusive world. Women currently make up only 12% of sworn officers and just 3% of police leadership in the U.S.

However, at LPD, we are proud to surpass that national average with 19% of our force being women.

Increasing the number of women in policing enhances public safety, fosters stronger community relationships, and brings diverse perspectives to law enforcement.

We remain committed to supporting, empowering, and recruiting more women in law enforcement to continue making a positive impact.
