Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail accepted the inaugural Jay Daveler Memorial Award last weekend at the “Under the Lights” Car Show on behalf of his entire police department.
The award, presented by Fairmount Fire Company, was created in memory of Fire Chief Jay Daveler — a dedicated public servant who gave so much to this town, the fire company, and the car show itself.
According to the department, the inaugural honor recognizes individuals or groups who have made lasting contributions to the success and spirit of the annual car show tradition.
“Receiving an award named after a man we deeply respected and proudly worked alongside means more than words can express. Thank you to Fairmount Fire Company and the Car Show Committee for this incredible honor—and most importantly, thank you to Jay, whose legacy continues to be an inspiration,” police said in a statement.
