The event is put on each year by sixth graders, who resaerch historical figures for a living wax figure project
Gwynedd Square Elementary celebrated the end of the school year with its annual "Wax Museum," where sixth-grade students dress up as figures from ancient civilizations (e.g. Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages, Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, Rome, Middle Ages, and Renaissance).
Each student is assigned an ancient figure to portray and research, according to teacher Derek Fickert.
This project culminates with the Wax Museum, where students in lower grades can come "visit" the museum to learn more about ancient history, according to Fickert.
Parents and community members stopped by to finish the day and see just how much their children have learned over the years at Gwynedd Square.
"The wax museum is a great way for us to end the year and share with not only lower grades, but also our families just how much the sixth graders have learned this year," said Fickert. "Each year, this project showcases the knowledge and creativity of our students while developing presentation skills with their peers and families."
