Lycoming County man and four juveniles allegedly fled police on the Northeast Extension before crashing near Fischer’s Park and being captured in nearby woods
One adult from Lycoming County, PA and four juveniles have been charged in the Pennsylvania State Police chase of a stolen SUV that began in Upper Merion Township, continued on the Northeast Extension and ended in a crash on Kriebel Road in Towamencin Township by Fischer’s Park.
Corporal Robert Levan, special projects coordinator for Troop T of the Pennsylvania State Police, said Tuesday that five individuals were in the stolen SUV. After crashing at a residential property on Kriebel Road by Bustard Road, they fled into a wooded area, but all five were caught, police said.
While the four juveniles’ names and charges were not released, police said Tahir Abdul Shakur Dixon, 18, of Williamsport, was charged June 9 with felony counts of receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a prohibited individual, according to charging documents. Furthermore, Dixon is charged with misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, criminal trespassing, and false identification to a police officer, and summary charges of disorderly conduct, careless driving causing serious bodily injury, failure to drive in a single lane, speeding, and reckless driving, per court records.
Dixon is jailed at Montgomery County jail on $50,000 cash bail.
He is also awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges filed Monday by Williamsport City Police in Lycoming County related to felony burglary, conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property in an incident in Williamsport on the same day as the Towamencin chase, according to court records.
