The North Penn School District continues to shine on both the stage and the screen, recently earning two prestigious recognitions that highlight its commitment to the arts and student achievement.
For the 14th consecutive year, NPSD has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation, a national honor that celebrates school districts demonstrating outstanding support for music education.
The designation, now in its 26th year, is awarded based on a comprehensive review of factors including funding, participation, facilities, curriculum, and community engagement. Responses from North Penn were verified by school officials and reviewed by the Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
Superintendent Dr. Todd Bauer praised the district’s educators and their impact.
“This award is a testament to the exceptional educators in our district who are committed to providing every student the opportunity to study music in all its forms,” he said.
The NAMM Foundation’s recognition reflects NPSD’s dedication to ensuring music remains a vital part of a well-rounded education for all students.
Adding to the celebration, North Penn Television students from North Penn High School earned four awards at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s High School Student Production Awards, held May 13 at Temple University.
Out of nine nominations across 17 categories, two seniors led the charge.
Jaden Phelps took home three top honors: "Best Commercial" for a promotion of the NPHS Snack Stand, "Best Multimedia Journalist" for coverage of the NPHS Bowling Team, and "Best Video Editor" for his short film "Press Return to Start."
