More than 500 people of all ages stepped forward for a good cause on Saturday at BAPS Charities’s annual “Spirit of Service Walk-Run.”

This year’s BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Lansdale reinforced the organization’s ongoing commitment to serving communities both locally and globally, raising $4,000 for the Autism Cares Foundation, an organization that supports individuals with autism and other intellectual disabilities, and an additional $4,000 for Liz’s Birthday Closet, a Souderton-based charity that provides free birthday toys and party kits to children in need.

The event was attended by numerous local dignitaries, including Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, state Rep. Steve Malagari, state Sen. Maria Collett and Hatfield Township Board of Commissioners President Tom Zipfel.

“Thank you for everyone who participated and donated to this humble cause,” said event lead Pranjal Patel.

Spanning over 100 cities across North America, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run embodies a mission that goes beyond fitness. It champions causes including education, health, environmental stewardship, humanitarian relief and support for local first responders.

Beyond the Walk-Run, BAPS Charities actively provides aid globally, supporting wildfire relief in Los Angeles, responding to hurricanes Milton and Helene and assisting thousands of Ukrainian refugees. Through its “Spirit of Service” campaign, it leads food drives, toy drives and health awareness initiatives. Globally, it has planted over 2 million trees and built 55 schools in disaster-hit regions.
