North Penn elementary students embraced teamwork and fun in a day full of challenges, cheers, and colorful competition
Most of the North Penn School District elementary schools celebrated Olympic Day on Friday, with a plethora of obstacles and activities that emphasized teamwork and good exercise.
The long-standing annual North Penn High School tradition at York Avenue Elementary featured a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” theme, with kindergarteners through sixth graders sorted into blue, orange, red and purple, representing Leonard, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Donatello, respectively.
In the end, after three hours of activities, made possible through the help of parent volunteers and under the direction and supervision of Splinter himself, physical education teacher Von Muller, students worked together to gather the most points.
While Leonardo leads, the blue team did not pull through. Raphael is cool, but it was not enough for red to get the victory. Donatello and purple will be sticking to machines.
Michaelangelo – aka the orange team – clinched Olympic Day at York Avenue. Party on!
While York Avenue had a TMNT-themed Olympic Day, each school chose their own theme, colors and games for the event.
